GLOVES
GMOriginal LE D30 Ltd Edition
They’re just so comfortable. I use ‘oversize mens’ because I’m
told I have massive hands. They have really good grip, which is
important for batting over longer periods – sometimes when
you start sweating into gloves your grip loosens and you lose
control of the bat. These are tight, heavy duty and I swear
by them.

BAT
GM ICON F7 DXM
I’d say this bat is an average weight at two pounds and 12
ounces. You find that most players have a bat which is either
two pounds ten or twelve ounces. Some people, like Samit
Patel, have a really heavy bat to hit sixes with. There’s enough
onthisone togetbehind it andhit sixes, which iswhat everyone
wants to do.No one wants to just come in and nurdle.
I’ve got four bats, the last one I broke earlier in the season in
the nets. It was a Yorker which ruined the toe. It wasn’t even
someone bowling, it came out of the claw that Picky and
Noony use for practice.
Gunn & Moore bats are excellent, it’s no surprise people use
themall over the world.

FOOTWEAR
Asics Gel Speed Menace /
Adidas Adipower
I’n a size twelve but these are 13s, you can’t be having too tight
a fit when you’re bowling. Bowling is hard on your toes, but
these are comfy and reliable. Is it weird to call a pair of trainers
reliable?
I’ve got a pair of Adidas batting boots. They’re a bit more heavy
duty – you could never use them to bowl in.They’re solid at the
front to save you fromYorkers, but if anything comes in higher
than that you’ll be in some pain.
