“We’re probably the best cricketing
physio team on the circuit.We’ve
had a few nets and we’re open to
challenges.”
A bold statement, certainly, but
Assistant Physio Gary Keedy has a
20-year playing career to justify his
confidence. Physiotherapist Jon Alty,
however, has only his confidence to
fall back on.
He’s quick to reassure Covered that
he’d make an excellent low order
slogger, as long as he’s got a heavy
bat. ‘Something good to swing,’
apparently.
Where former Lancs and Surrey
spinner Keedy is making his first steps
into physiotherapy at Trent Bridge,
28-year-old Alty has nearly a decade
of experience in the field.
After graduating from the University
of Bath, he has worked for Reading,
Blackpool and Millwall football
clubs, as well as the GB Synchronised
Swimming team.
While only making his first steps into
cricket, he assured Covered that it
had been a pleasant transition.
