Chief Executive’s Foreword
welcome
After a long and cold winter it’s really nice
to finally see some sunshine as another new
season gets underway here at Trent Bridge.
Cricket remains at the heart of everything
that we do and like many of you I’m always
really excited at this time of year as we begin
to follow the fortunes of our team through
another busy season. I’m sure you’ll all join
me in wishing Mick Newell and Chris Read
all the very best and also in extending a
warm welcome to our new signings Ajmal
Shahzad and Ed Cowan.
It’s a busy summer not just for the team but
for our venue as Trent Bridge becomes the
focal point for a global television audience
running to hundreds of millions as we host
the opening Ashes Test Match in July. There
is prestige attached to hosting all Test cricket
on English soil, but for me, winning the right
for our venue to host an Ashes Test remains
something that everyone in Nottinghamshire
should be very proud of.
Following the exhaustive bidding process
and the briefest of pauses to celebrate our
success, we are now focussed on turning
plans into action to deliver the best possible
experience for both players and supporters.
Elsewhere in Covered, you’ll hear from our
Head of Community Sport Tracey Francis
as she talks about our innovative Ashes
Legacy Partnership and from two of the on
field protagonists as Nottinghamshire duo
Graeme Swann and Ed Cowan enjoy the
calm before the storm.
I do hope that you will all have the
opportunity to visit Trent Bridge this season
and see our second permanent replay screen
which is now fully operational. It should
greatly enhance the match day experience for
everyone and in particular those of you that
prefer to sit in front of the Pavilion.
Let’s hope 2013 delivers all that it
promises for our Club and venue. I look
forward to seeing you at Trent Bridge
throughout the season.
