PKF Partner Paul Ellis has praised the
efforts of Nottinghamshire’s community
and commercial departments for securing
top honours at the ECB Business of
Cricket Awards.
Nottinghamshire’s official Club sponsors
were central to the awards for Best Partnership
Activation and Best Community Scheme.
The 12-year relationship between Notts and
PKF has grown to deliver an apprenticeship
scheme for aspirant sports development
officers, coach education, staff community
action and branding on LV= County
Championship match shirts.
“PKF and Nottinghamshire County Cricket
Club enjoy a partnership in the truest sense
of the word in that we constantly challenge
each other to take things to the next level,”
said Paul.
“I asked a few years ago if there was a
way in which our sponsorship could have
more of a community focus and the Club
developed schemes to educate coaches,
visited children in hospital at Christmas
and offered apprenticeships under the
PKF banner.
“In addition to the reputational benefits of
aligning ourselves with Trent Bridge, our
partnership has enthused our staff who took
part in a day of action to make Thurgarton
CC more suitable for visually impaired
teams which became a strand of the Club’s
pitch for Best Community Programme.
“In my eyes, working with Nottinghamshire
County Cricket Club is a dream come
true and I am delighted that the ECB have
recognised our partnership.”
PKF have already committed to
sponsor Nottinghamshire’s LV= County
Championship match shirts next season
with the apprenticeship scheme set to run
for a third successive year.
Nottinghamshire’s Head of Community
Sport Tracey Francis hopes to continue
to innovate with the support of Paul and
his colleagues.
“Our achievements in making Thurgarton
CC a model venue for visually impaired
cricketers in a single day would not have
been possible were it not for the army of
volunteers from PKF who supported our
efforts,” saidTracey.
“The PKF Apprenticeship scheme has been
hugely successful in that it doubles the
capacity of our Community & Development
department and equips graduates with the
skills that they need to launch a career in
sports development.”
Nottinghamshire
Chief
Executive
Lisa Pursehouse hopes that the ECB’s
recognition of the partnership will lead to
further enhancements.
“PKF are very active sponsors and they
appreciate the efforts that we make to
deliver success for them,” said Lisa.
“We really enjoy working with all of our
commercial partners and the length of our
relationship with PKF is something that we
are extremely proud of.”
