Chief Executive’s Foreword
welcome
The demand for tickets for our 2013 Investec
Ashes Test has demonstrated that support
for major matches in Nottinghamshire is
stronger than ever and we are extremely
grateful to you, our members, for buying
tickets in record numbers.
Demand outstripped supply by an
overwhelming margin with 51,000 attempted
calls to our ticket hotline and a peak of 9,000
in our online queue.
The first four days sold out within six hours
of going on general sale and we look forward
to welcoming capacity crowds for what
promises to be an enthralling opening to
another classic series.
Thankfully our members were spared the
need to join the rush having enjoyed a
priority sales period and we are pleased to
report that every ticket application processed
during this time was successful.
Your support for our major matches has
allowed us to continue to invest in our team,
our venue and our community projects and
there have been some exciting developments
in all three areas which you’ll read more
about in this edition of Covered.
On the playing front, we are delighted to
welcome Ajmal Shahzad to the Club having
concluded a deal to secure his services for
the next three years.
Off the field, work has begun to demolish
our old scoreboard with plans on track
to begin the 2013 season with a second
electronic replay screen.
Our community efforts have been applied
with renewed vigour following the
presentation of the ECB’s Best Community
Scheme Award to our community and
development team for the third successive
year with our lauded Positive Futures
scheme set to launch in Hawtonville in April.
I trust you will winter well and look forward
to welcoming you to Trent Bridge for the
dawn of the 2013 season.
